“Mach dir einen Kopf! (Make up your mind!)” – this is the motto of this year’s “Jugend forscht”  and “Schüler experimentieren” competitions.

On February 27 and 28, 2024, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) will host the regional competition in Middle Franconia for the first time. A total of around 100 young people will be taking part this year with 70 experiments and projects, and guests are also very welcome on both days.

The complete program for both days is available online: jugendforscht.fau.de

In project exhibitions, the jury and guests can view the stands with projects from the 7 subject areas of the world of work, biology, chemistry, earth and space sciences, mathematics/computer science, physics and technology and exchange ideas with the participants.

On Tuesday, February 27, the participants in “Jugend forscht” (aged 15-21) will first present their creative projects to the jury. Between 1.30 p.m. and 4 p.m., all interested parties will then have the opportunity to view the experiments and ideas.

On Wednesday, February 28, “Schüler experimentieren” (up to 14 years old) will follow. This event is open to guests between 2.30 pm and 4.15 pm.

The award ceremony for both competitions will then take place on Wednesday, February 28, between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in Lecture Hall G of the Physikum, Staudtstraße 5, Erlangen. Once again, guests are cordially invited.

The winners of the regional competitions will also qualify for the state competition in April.
