Short description: Quantum-nanowire electronics with wide-bandgap semiconductors Interactions in low-dimensional Dirac/Weyl-Fermion systems (2D layered materials) Helical nanostructures – growth, cooperative and anisotropic electronics & optics in the PT-violating regime

FAU is one of the 4 Top-Universities in Germany for studying Physics according to the ranking published in the “ZEIT” magazine where students ahve been interviewed about the study conditions, support and services.

Studies in physics for the Master of Science (MSc) are offered in English to welcome international students. The courses leading to the Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in physics are offered in German only.

Students wishing to take the  Physics MSc. course should hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in physics.  Exceptions are possible, and the admission board will carefully look at the supplied evidence of previous studies and decide on admission. The board of admission can issue an admission with additional requirements which will ensure that the Master level can be reached within the time allowed for the programs. To fulfill the requirements for the physics MSc. course, the department offers “Supplementary Module Studies in Physics” which can be allocated to get approved by the admission board.

As an outstanding student you can apply also for a scholarship which helps to cover the living costs.
